Rudgwick Steam Show unfortunately is not being held this year due to losing their showground.

The organiser, Terry Hand, is looking for a site for 2019, and we wish him all the very best in finding one.

We have played at this show since 2003, and have thoroughly enjoyed the show. We have made many good acquaintances there, and hope that 2019 will be back to normal.

Our next show is this coming Wednesday at the Gillingham and Shaftesbury Show, and we are performing in the Music Marquee.

The SomersetLive section in the WESTERN GAZETTE reports:-

What bands will be playing?
Headlining the event will be the New Forest Yokels, whose music is described as "country 'n' cider" - so if you like The Wurzels, you'll probably feel right at home.

They will be supported by Mustang Sally - named after The Commitments - and there will be more traditional performances by the Gillingham Imperial Silver Band, members of the Shaftesbury Town Band and the Gillingham Imperial Silver Youth Band."

So, come and see us on Wednesday in the music marquee and have a great day at this fabulous show

We've had some terrific gigs this year, and none better than a private party in Dorset. The happy hosts sent us this message after the party.

"Thank you all so very much for making our party a day to remember last Saturday at The Udder Farm Shop. We thought it would be a bit of a gamble booking you because we love your music but wasn't sure how it would go down with our guests.......we needn't have worried! Everybody loved it - young and old - and lots of people asking for your details  Thanks for being so generous with your time and we hope to see you at one of the country shows this summer."

More recently what a fantastic time we had last weekend - 2nd and 3rd of July.

Saturday we played a charity gig at the Cedar School in Nursling, near Southampton, which caters for

Special Educational Needs and Disability Needs. Their Summer Fayre was a great success. We wish you all the very best, and keep up your good and invaluable work to which you are so dedicated.

Sunday found us at the Gold Hill Fair near Shaftesbury. We played at the "Ye Olde Two Brewers" during the afternoon, and couldn't have wished for a better audience. Even those outside of the marquee were dancing and joining in with the choruses, so a good time had by all.

See you all in a couple of weeks at the Yeovil Show. on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th July. We're playing both days in the Bridport Brewing Company's Marque, so come along and have a drink and listen to the music.

Our first visit to the Blandford Georgian Fayre, and we had a fantastic audience. Unfortunately the rain meant an early end to the Fayre, and we got pretty damp, but "C'est la vie"

Our next gig is Sparsholt open day on Saturday 21st May, followed by the New Forest Spring Fair on Saturday 28th and Sunday 29th May at New Park, Brockenhurst.

We then venture back into Dorset for the Sherborne Country Fair on bank holiday Monday.
If you are at any of these please come up and say hello

Our next gig is at Blandford Georgian Fayre on Monday 2nd May. We are playing in front of the Corn Exchange in the main square, and start the day at 10am.

We will play several one hour sets through the day, and finish the Fayre at about 5pm.

We look forward to seeing you all there, and hope the weather is kind to us. Click on the link on our gig page to find out more about this very entertaining Fayre.

Didn't we have a lovely time the day we went to Dorset.

Lady Muck-Spreader spotted this on the Dorset County Show's Facebook page. It's part of a write up on the show. See you there on both days, Saturday 5th and Sunday 6th September in the Dorset Brewing Company's Tent. Come and say hello.
  • From blissed-out blues to silly grins, back by popular demand are the New Forest Yokels. No agricultural show would be complete without a foot-stomping, straw-chewing sing-a-long. Legends in their own farmyards, band members including Mucker Mike, Compost John and Rustic Rex will be playing hit songs from their repertoire such as Drink up Ye Cider and Cider Drinker. And you can probably guess where to find them – that’s right, they’ll be in the Dorset Brewing Company’s Tent (where else?).
